Reflections on school life, childhood and parenting
Over the past few years, it has often felt as though the world around children has become increasingly complicated.
Childhood seems to be shifting faster than any of us can keep up with. As a headteacher, I see this daily: rising anxiety, pressure from social media, the pull of screens, the fading art
of play, the rush of family life and the growing expectation that schools should somehow solve every challenge at once. It’s no wonder so many parents tell me they feel overwhelmed. And truthfully, at times, the world seems a little mad.
That’s why I’ve decided to write a regular blog—not yet sure whether it will be weekly, monthly, or simply whenever something needs saying. My aim is to pause, reflect and offer a fresh perspective on the educational challenges we are
facing.
